Louise Vessey- Trust Primary Improvement Leader Executive Headteacher (Shirland and Mickley)

I have been Headteacher of Shirland Primary School since September 2020 and was previously Head of School in Derby City. Prior to this, I have taught in a variety of schools across the Derby City and Derbyshire area. During my career I have led school improvement across Derby City schools as a Senior Leader of Education specialising in phonics and early reading and as an external moderator for KS1 for over 6 years. 

I feel immensely proud and privileged to be able to lead and manage Shirland Primary School and am delighted to be part of CNET. I sense a clear match between my strengths and skills, and the opportunities for service within my school and the wider Trust.

Shirland is a caring and inspiring learning community with high aspirations for all of its children.  We have a fantastic staff team; supportive parents; and a committed local governing board, who do a great job of supporting the school and making sure that we do the best that we can for all of our children.
