Louise Vessey- Trust Primary Improvement Leader Executive Headteacher (Shirland and Mickley)

I currently lead Shirland Primary School and Mickley Village Primary & Nursery School as Executive Headteacher and was previously Head of School in Derby City. Prior to this, I have taught in a variety of schools across the Derby City and Derbyshire area. During my career I have led school improvement across Derby City schools as a Senior Leader of Education specialising in phonics and early reading and as an external moderator for KS1 for over six years.

Alongside my school leadership role, I am delighted to be part of the CNET central team as the Trust Primary Improvement Leader. I see a strong alignment between my skills and experience and the opportunities for service across our primary schools. I also work alongside leaders of education from a variety of Trusts to quality assure our strategic aims.

Our schools are caring and inspiring learning communities with high aspirations for all of the children.  We have fantastic teaching teams; supportive parents; and committed academy governing boards, who work together to ensure the very best outcomes for all our children.
