Governance – Charmaine Roche

Charmaine enjoyed a 29 year career in the education sector serving in leadership roles at local, regional and national levels. These roles included headship, advisory and consultancy roles in two LA and 6 years work on DfE school improvement strategies. Throughout her career her passion was for the development of the whole child: creating whole school and classroom cultures that support critical thinking, emotional intelligence, the ability to form and sustain healthy relationships and work collaboratively as well as to find an individual voice. After leaving the sector in 2013 she continued serving as a school governor and worked for Leicester County Council Governor development service , until 2019, as a training and consultant carrying out External Reviews of Governance.

Charmaine, began a second career in 2016 after returning to university to complete a Post Graduate diploma in coaching and now working as an experienced Executive Coach. She owns her own company, Life Flow Balance Coaching and Consulting Ltd. Her commitment to Life Long Learning has seen her return to take up studies for a PhD, exploring the place of ethics in coaching. Always learning new skills and taking on challenges she also started a well respected podcast during the first Covid19 Lockdown, called Speak Up, Speak Out: Ethics Matter. Her commitment to ethics behaviour, moral courage, equality, equity, diversity, inclusion and belong informs all that she does.

To relax she writes, walks, gardens, reads and attends yoga and Pilates classes.
